“I’m genuinely very excited to be made Head of Team England, especially at a time where interest in the sport is at such a high level due to the incredible work done by the ESA Board in delivering such an excellent World Cup. For me it’s the dream job and I can’t wait to get started. Firstly, I want to thank my predecessor Darren Clark for his vision and leadership these past three years - he really instilled a will to win into the England Squad and it’s that culture that I want to build on. There will be no radical changes just a steady hand on the tiller to move forward step by step to producing a world champion. Our next building block is the European Championships next September in Malta. To this end the ESA Board have published the selection criteria for the next two years to include the 2026 World Cup in Paris. In addition, I’m keen to relaunch a home countries team event as a pathway event for our aspiring players, and will be reaching out to the other home nations in the near future.”
