This past Sunday, Chasers Subbuteo Club in Rainham, Essex played host to a fantastic day of team-based Subbuteo action, and what a day it was! Eight teams battled it out in the Chasers Cup, but it was Worthing Five Star who emerged victorious after a dramatic series of matches.

For the first time in nearly two decades, Worthing fielded a full five-man squad at a national event, and what a return it was. Shaun, Dan, Connor, Dave and team captain Malc rolled back the years and delivered a performance full of spirit, skill and teamwork.
After a tough group stage with tight draws against Surrey and Chasers, and a narrow win over Solent, Worthing clinched second place in their group to move into the knockout stages. There, they overcame group winners Kent in a tense semi-final before facing familiar rivals Solent again, this time in the final.
Worthing saved their best for last. With commanding wins from Shaun, Connor, and Malc, and a solid draw from Dave, the final ended 3-0 in Worthing’s favour. The team were all smiles as they lifted the trophy — a fitting reward for their perseverance and team spirit.
The ESA congratulates Worthing Five Star on a fantastic achievement and extends thanks to Gary Gladwell and the Chasers team for organising a brilliant tournament that showcased the very best of Subbuteo team play.
