Kent FISTF Satellite Weekend – Event Recap (May 10–11, 2025)

This past weekend, Kent Invicta TFC proudly hosted the 2025 FISTF Satellite Individual and Team Events, welcoming a wide range of talented players and clubs to two days of top-level Subbuteo competition.

Saturday – FISTF Satellite Individual Event
Saturday kicked off with the FISTF-sanctioned individual event, featuring a strong field of players battling through the group stages into tightly contested knockout rounds.

Group Stage Highlights:
Aaron Skinner stormed through Group 1 with a perfect 9-point finish and an impressive +10 goal difference.
Solid performances from Malcolm Jamieson, Connor Gregory, and Chris Shilling set the tone for a very competitive day of flicking.
Main Knockout Event:
Winner: Aaron Skinner
Runner-Up: Mick Hammonds

Plate Competition:
Winner: Terry Arnold
Runner-Up: Joe Harrington
A great run from both players, with Terry clinching victory in the Plate final.


Shield Event:
Winner: Neil Doherty
Runner-Up: Hadley Chapman
A solid day’s work from Neil as he edged out a determined Hadley in the final.


Under 16 Final:
Winner: Connor Gregory
Runner-Up: Jamie Warren
A fantastic achievement for Connor Gregory, who also impressed in the senior event. The youth competition featured five young players, including several newcomers attending their first tournament — a brilliant sign of the game’s continued growth and appeal to new generations. Their enthusiasm and sportsmanship were a real highlight of the day, and the future of Subbuteo looks brighter than ever!



Sunday – FISTF Team Event
Sunday brought team pride to the fore with a round-robin group stage followed by a grand final between the top two finishers, an all-Langton Green clash!

The Final, Langton D vs Langton B:
The final match ended in a thrilling 2–2 draw, but with both teams level on points, it came down to goal difference. Langton D edged it with 11 goals scored vs 10, claiming the overall Team Event Title by the slimmest of margins.
What a way to finish the weekend, two fantastic squads putting on a real show.
A Massive thanks to Kent Invicta TFC for a superbly run weekend and to all players, referees, and supporters who made the event such a success. The spirit, camaraderie, and skill on display were a brilliant advert for Subbuteo at every level.
