It's All To Play For This Saturday At The Final English Championship Round Of The Season

This coming Saturday the 15th of June 2024, will see the climax of this seasons English Championships. Players from all over the country will be heading to the North East for Round 6, hosted by the North East Table Football Alliance Brigantes on Teesside. After 5 very exciting rounds, it comes down to this event to crown the new English circuit champion. 6 out of the current top 7 in the table can still win the championship, but its current leader and winner of two rounds, Kevin Cordell along with inform, Matt Lampitt and round 2 winner, Justin Finch who are the strong favourites.

The Under 20’s championship will also be decided this weekend with current leader Jamie Warren being in pole position to win his first Championship.

There is also a keen battle to get into the top 10 of the championship table, with a place in this seasons Masters for all 10 players. According to the Super Subbuteo Computer, any players down to Joe Harrington in 37th place could still make the top 10, but it's Wolverhampton's Mick Hammonds who sat in 12th position, could squeeze in and make the cut.

So what's at stake for the players who make the cut?

The Masters Event

The event, first played in 2005, will feature the top players in the England Championships in both senior and youth categories and will be played at The English Subbuteo Association Centre of Excellence on Saturday 17th August.

Qualifying Senior Category

The final top 10 players in the English Championships after the conclusion of round 6, plus 2 wildcard entries, chosen by the ESA Board. If any of the finishing top 10 are unable to make the event the ESA Board will select the next player(s) down the list until 10 players have confirmed participation. Qualifying Youth Category

The top 5 players in the English Championships after the conclusion of round 6. Plus 1 wildcard entry. If any of the finishing top 5 are unable to make the event the ESA Board will select an additional wildcard until 6 players have confirmed participation.
