ESA Announces National Training Day with England Player Sam Curtis – Open to All Levels and Ages!

The English Subbuteo Association is excited to invite players of all abilities to a full-day training event on the 20th of July 2025, designed to help you sharpen your skills and grow your confidence, whether you’re a complete beginner or aiming to compete at a higher level.

Hosted by Godiva Subbuteo Club in Coventry, the day will include structured coaching sessions in a friendly, inclusive, and supportive setting.

Leading the event will be England international Sam Curtis, who will guide attendees through a range of practical drills focused on every aspect of the game. Outside of the drills you'll also be able to pick the brains of Sam who will help answer any questions or queries you have around your game. 

Sam shared his thoughts ahead of the event:

“I'm really excited to announce this training day. It's a great initiative, suggested to the ESA by Godiva's Graham Harwood. This is a first for the ESA and can hopefully be the start of future training days to help develop the English Subbuteo scene.”

ESA Chairman Alan Lee added:

“This is exactly the kind of initiative that shows the ESA’s commitment to growing the game at every level. With top level guidance from Sam Curtis in a welcoming environment, it’s a fantastic opportunity for players of all abilities to build their skills and confidence.”

Event Details:

• Date: 20th July 

• Location: Jaguar Sports and Social Club, Fenton Rd, Coventry CV5 9PS

•  Time: Arrive for 9:00am with a 9:30am start and 4:30 – 5:00pm finish

• Cost: £10 in enter the event

• Food and drink available at the venue.
