England Head Coach Bob Varney will be leading the squad in Malta for the first time since his appointment.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Bob said:
“I’m genuinely very excited to be made Head of Team England, especially at a time where interest in the sport is at such a high level due to the incredible work done by the ESA Board in delivering such an excellent World Cup. For me it’s the dream job and I can’t wait to get started.”

England Open Category Players
In the highly competitive Open Category, England will be represented by two from this quartet of talented players:
Kasper Bennett
Chris Thomas
Mick Hammonds
Elliott Bellefontaine

Each of these players brings a wealth of experience and skill to the table, and all four will be aiming to make their mark against Europe’s elite. England’s hopes in the open class rest on their ability to combine tactical discipline with attacking flair, and they will be players to watch throughout the event.
Spotlight on Ruby Matthews
England will also be represented in the Under-16s category by youth star Ruby Matthews, who already has many titles to her name. Ruby has quickly built a reputation as one of the most talented young players in the game, combining fearless attacking play with a growing tactical maturity beyond her years.

Her entry into the European Championships marks another milestone in her career, and she’ll be looking to add continental success to her achievements so far. England fans will be watching closely to see if she can deliver another standout performance on the big stage once again.
England Veterans Eyeing More Silverware
The England Veterans team are also heading to Malta with high hopes. After reaching the final of last year’s World Cup in Tunbridge Wells, they have shown they are capable of mixing it with the very best. With a strong and experienced squad, they will once again be targeting medals and will try to go one step further and bring home European glory.
