A Brief History of the World of Subbuteo Subbuteo was invented in 1947 by Peter Adolph. Around that time, he established both Subbuteo Sports Games Ltd. and the Table Soccer Players Association. SSG was responsible for the manufacture and distribution of the Subbuteo product/range while the TSPA sought to organise and run events.

Leicester International Open - 25th January 2014. The Leicester IO returns to David Lloyd Health Club, which recently hosted the English Masters. It has proven to be a popular venue with UK players and the event is expecting a good turnout.

The English Subbuteo Association is pleased to announce that the UK & Eire Open Cup will be held on Saturday 15th March 2014 at Futsal in Birmingham. The competition will be based on a 5 round Swiss system format and all participants will be guaranteed 5 matches throughout the day. The whole event is designed to allow players of equal ability competitive matches during the course of the day.
Its Back! The 2014 Sliders Tour kicks off in Manchester for Stage 1 of 4. Last year it was Justin Finch who took the Sliders Shield home. The 2014 Tour has added two new venues in Middlesborough and Birmingham have increased the stage cap to 32. Also adding a U15’s section.
London TFC have just released their latest newsletter and it is now available to download from the ESA website. The superb bi monthly newsletter is written by ESA member Nick MacLochlainn on behalf of London TFC. It makes for a fascinating read and has to be one of the best club newsletters in the World.

Club JSC Rochefort from Belgium have been announced as the hosts for the FISTF World Cup 2014. The ESA would like to congratulate JSC Rochefort who we believe are an excellent choice for hosting the biggest event within the FISTF Calendar.

So who has been the best English player over the last 20 years? Some people will say Kasper Bennett, the only English player who has got to a World Cup Final in the last 30 years. Our interview sees Kasper reveal his best ever goal and his remarkable wins against some of the best players in the World.
England Legend Kasper Bennett (Open) and English Junior Champion Kye Arnold (U12) have both won the Cardiff GP which took place at the Swalec Stadium on Saturday 30th November 2013. The tournament had a fantastic turnout with more than 100 players registering for the event, making it the largest UK Subbuteo tournament for many years.
